Young People's Dances

A large number of dances from Scandinavia are song dances that are excellent tools for introducing young people to music and dance. The club will work with the Danish Cultural Center in setting up dance classes for young people.

This class of dances includes set dances (quadrilles and contras), polka and waltz variations, schottishes, mazurkas, fox trott, etc. These dances are very accessible to most people and provide a great opportunity for fun movement and much socializing. See the Gammeldans Flyer for information about this class.

Village Dances

For the more skilled and serious dancers, the club will provide instruction in Scandinavian village dances. These dances include the Danish 'Sønderhoning', Swedish 'polskor', and Norwegian 'springar' and 'pols' variations.
